ADMISSION PROCESS FOR SUBSTANCE ABUSE SERVICES
The UBP’s Central Intake unit provides eligibility screening and admission to UBP’s Substance Abuse programs as well as placement in other community-based programs. This unit maintains an extensive network of other inpatient and outpatient substance abuse linkages, including inpatient detoxification, short-term rehabilitation, therapeutic communities, outpatient clinics, day treatment programs, etc.
UBP’s Central Intake also links clients with other UBP programs for which they may be eligible, including HIV services and to other concrete social services and emergency programs, such as hot meals, food pantries, homeless shelters, etc. which clients may need before they can access treatment services. Clients are assisted in obtaining Medicaid and other necessary entitlements as part of the admission process.
UBP’s Central Intake is located at Mrs. A’s Place and is open from 9:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. Intake staff can be reached through the main number: (718) 617-6060.
